In 2022, the Austrian fittings manufacturer Blum enteres into a strategic partnership with S.I.E., also based in Vorarlberg, acquiring a 75.1% stake in the company (expanded to 89% in 2024). New synergies will arise in the areas of mechatronics and digitalization for products for electrified and digitally equipped furniture. Blum is a globally active family business that specializes in the manufacture and sale of furniture fittings. Its main product groups are flap, hinge, pull-out, and pocket systems for furniture.
The company has eight plants in Vorarlberg, Austria, production facilities in Poland, Brazil, China, and the USA and 33 subsidiaries and representative offices around the world. Blum employs 9,400 people worldwide, 7,000 of whom work at the headquarters in Vorarlberg alone.
Blum supplies innovative functional fittings to customers in over 120 countries. Turnover in the 2023/2024 financial year amounted to 2,297.16 million euros.
Since 2009 System Industrie Electronic Ltd. has acted under the roof of FT AG. The PLC’s high-tech network currently incorporates seven companies in five countries.
Aside from System Industrie Electronic Ltd. and its German subcompany System Industrie Electronic Deutschland Ltd, Qualis Electronics from Serbia, GBS Tempest & Service from Diepholz in Germany, as well as the Austrian S.I.E Connect GmbH. with its subcompanies in Hong Kong and The USA are held by FT AG.
